Meet one of Taronga’s recent fundraising superstars – Lachlan!
Lachlan Thompson, aged 8, is passionate about all wildlife, but he especially LOVES Marine Turtles. When Lachlan discovered that Taronga’s Wildlife Hospital in Sydney frequently treats critically ill Marine Turtles that have been washed up on New South Wales beaches or are found floating in the ocean unable to dive, he was determined to help give these majestic creatures a second chance at life.
This very creative and confident young philanthropist quickly got to work with his French knitting skills, designing his own Christmas tree decorations which he sold to family and friends to raise funds for Taronga.
Through his inspiring online donation page Lachlan encouraged his friends and family to donate to Turtles, raising over $1000! Because of Lachlan’s support Taronga can continue it's vital work in Marine Turtle conservation; particularly through our rescue, rehabilitation and release programs. Go Lachlan! We think you're turtle-y wicked.
