School fundraising
Teach your kids the value of philanthropy, and help secure a shared future for wildlife and people
Whether you’re a student, parent or teacher, fundraising at school is a great way to get your community involved in fun activities, all whilst supporting Taronga’s vital conservation programs.
There are many ways you can raise money at school. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Animal-themed mufti day
Why not have students have a day out of uniform and instead dress up in something animal inspired for a gold coin donation?
Cake, cake, cake
Have a cake bake day and set up a stall at your school, with proceeds going toward helping protect your favourite animal!
Guess the name of the animal toy
Get your classmates to guess the name of the animal plush, winner takes home a cuddly toy! Taronga can provide the animal toy of your choice.
Get revenge on your teachers with a sponge throwing competition
Line up your friends at school and, for a gold coin donation, they can throw wet sponges at the teachers! With their permission, of course… hey, it’s for a good cause!
Animal themed dance-a-thon
Turn your school hall or gym into a jungle, savannah or even a beautiful coral reef! Dress up and twist the afternoon away and create a performance to share with your school, all for a gold coin donation! You could even try and challenge teachers to a dance off.
